6/22 Camp Update:
It is with heavy hearts and deep regret that we inform you of the status of DHDC Summer Camps. As many of you are aware, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Don Harrington Discovery Center had cancelled our June summer camps. Unfortunately, there have not been any changes in the state guidelines since June 3rd, leaving us no option but to cancel our July summer camps as well. We hope you know the safety and health of campers and staff is always the highest priority at the Discovery Center. As with our June cancellations, this decision did not come easily as this is a disappointment for all, including the Discovery Center. We love watching our campers explore the exhibits making new discoveries each day during camp; however, at this time, with strict guidelines remaining in place, we have determined that we are unable to provide the same exceptional level of experience to our campers as we have done in the past.
If you have already signed your child up for a camp, we are offering you the opportunity to place the funds on hold for priority placement in our 2021 summer camps. Other options include applying your funds towards the purchase or renewal of a membership; receiving a Steve Spangler Science Activity Kit ($35 value) and a partial refund; requesting a full refund, or kindly donating your funds to help sustain the Discovery Center, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit.
To make it simple, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with one of the following quick phrases!
2021 Summer Camps– to hold your funds for next summer’s exciting camps.
Membership– to purchase or renew a membership
Steve Spangler Kit- to receive a Steve Spangler Science Kit and a partial refund by check.
Full Refund– to receive a full refund for all camps (by check)
Donation!– to kindly donate your camp funds to help sustain the Discovery Center
All refunds will be sent by a check and will be payable and sent to the parent name and address entered when registering for camp. If you need your check mailed to a different name or address, please indicate that in your email.
You may contact Bridget Gervasi at email@example.com or by calling 355-9547×103 if you have any questions regarding your refund.

**SUMMER CAMP COVID UPDATE 5.21.20**
In the interest of public health and safety for our youngest scientists during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Don Harrington Discovery Center has made the difficult decision to cancel June summer camps. The safety and health of campers and staff is always the highest priority at the Discovery Center. This decision did not come easily and follows thorough discussion and careful consideration of state and local guidelines and Minimum Standard Health Protocols. We know this is an inconvenience for many and a disappointment for all, including the Discovery Center. We love watching our campers explore the exhibits making new discoveries each day during camp; however, at this time, with strict guidelines in place, we have determined that we cannot provide the same exceptional level of experience to our campers as we have done in the past.
As of now, July camps are still scheduled as planned. We will make another announcement mid-June on the status of those camps.
Though we are cancelling the June summer camps, we are working hard on ways to keep our community engaged in science this summer. If you haven’t already, please check out our weekly adventure with Discover at Home on our Facebook page! You can find all the videos on You Tube or our website.
We have started making changes inside the DHDC to make things as safe as possible for our guests when we are able to reopen. Thank you for understanding and sticking with us!
