WEATHERING THE STORM REGISTRATION FORM 

Grades K-5

As part of Texas Severe Weather Awareness Week, join DHDC and our special guests for an interactive learning adventure where students will explore the science of severe weather and learn how to safely weather the storm. Experience a hands-on weather learning lab with stations exploring the science of severe weather and a special showing of Forces of Nature in the DHDC Space Theater. Each activity allows students to explore the science of severe weather and learn how to safely weather the storm. A short exhibit hall time will be included in your rotation schedule, and groups are welcome to stay after the conclusion of the event for extra exhibit hall time if their travel schedule allows. Rotation schedules will include a scheduled lunch time (lunches not provided).

EVENT DETAILS

  • Event includes hands-on learning activities, presentations from the National Weather Service Amarillo, KAMR Chief Meteorologist John Harris* and veteran storm chaser Jason Boggs*, a special showing of Forces of Nature in the Space Theater and a short exhibit hall time.  *Currently scheduled to appear.
  • Reservation deadline is February 16, 2020, but will close early if event reaches capacity. – Register here.
  • DHDC Education Partner Districts:     FREE
    Non-Partner Districts:                         $5 per student
  • DHDC will set rotation schedules for groups, with a lunch period included. Lunch will not be provided.
