Camp Discovery offers week-long summer camps for children 3 years old to entering 5th grade.
With 7 exciting themes to choose from, the learning opportunities are endless! Campers will learn on their level with a science-based curriculum and qualified teachers.
In addition, camps 1st grade through 5th grade will include one day per week at Wildcat Bluff Nature Center. On the days scheduled for that grade, the campers will be dropped off and picked up at Wildcat Bluff. Learn More Here
Each weekly theme is packed full of age-appropriate activities, crafts, discovery, and fun!

Week 1: June 6th-June 10th
Channel your inner survivor as we learn and explore the dangers in the wild and how to use our brains to outwit and outlast them.
Week 2: June 13th-June 17th
Help us examine science at work behind all things gross, slimy, icky, and oozy! We will explore everything from why we burp to why spiders need 8 legs, and many spectacularly gross experiments that will create memories for years to come!
Week 3: June 20th-June 24th
Travel with us through the last frontier, SPACE! Boldly go where no camper has gone before as we explore planets, stars, and everything between with our Space Theater, science demonstrations, and space-sized schemes!
Week 4: June 27th-July 1st
Make It or Break It
Robots, buildings, and roller coasters… How do we build them? What can be built to withstand an earthquake? What does it take to destroy a well-built house? Join us in this challenge as we test our ‘Make It and Break It’ abilities through engineering, coding, and brilliant building ideas!
Week 5: July 5th-July 8th
The Science of Art
Discover all things colorful and creative as we walk through the scientific aspects of art with decorative chemical reactions and other experiments!
Week 6: July 11th-July 15th
Ever wonder how animals survive in the wild? Would you love to know what happens “unda da sea?” Join us as we learn about the critters around the world and what makes them so unique to their surroundings.
Week 7: July 18th-July 22nd
Travel back in time to the ages of the dinosaurs. Explore bones, fossils, and what happened to the dinosaurs as your camper becomes a paleontologist!
FAQ / Camp Details
Please enroll your child in camp for the grade THEY WILL BE ENTERING FOR THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR. By enrolling your child you agree to the age guidelines set by DHDC.
If it becomes clear that your child does not satisfy the age guidelines, they may be dismissed without a refund.
How much does camp cost?
- $175/week for members
- $225/week for non-members
*Member discounts are for DHDC Family, Family-Plus, or Grandparent memberships ONLY. One + Guest members pay non-member camp fees.*
Pre-Care: 7:45am – 9:00am ($35/week)
After-Care: 4:30 pm -5:30 pm ($35/week)
A charge of $10 plus $1 per minute will be incurred after 5:30 pm.
- 3 and 4 Year Old – 9:00am-12:00pm
- **Full-Day Camp- 9:00am-4:00pm
*Campers 5 & up need to bring a sack lunch and drink that DO NOT need to be refrigerated or heated.
**Must be 5 years old at the beginning of the camp week to be eligible for full-day camp.
Wildcat Bluff Day
Here is what we have planned:
Camps 1st grade through 5th grade will include one day per week at Wildcat Bluff Nature Center. On the days scheduled for that grade, the campers will be dropped off and picked up at Wildcat Bluff.
Scheduled Wildcat Days:
- 1st Grade — Tuesday
- 2nd Grade — Wednesday
- 3rd through 5th Grade — Thursday
Please be prepared to send sunscreen and a water bottle with your campers on that day! We will be sure to reach out and remind you closer to your camper’s date!
Entire camp cancellations by DHDC will be fully refunded. Cancellations made by the customer 14 business days before the start of camp will be refunded minus a $10.00 processing fee. Cancellations within 14 days, missed camp days, and missed pre or after-care will NOT be refunded.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian except when under the direct supervision of camp instructors. Children may not be left unattended before or after camps.
Campers must be checked in at the front desk or early care teacher upon arrival.
Campers should be brought to their class no more than 10 minutes before start time unless enrolled in Pre-Care.
Campers should be picked up promptly at the end of each camp. For your child’s safety, we will release your camper only to those listed on the registration. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please bring a photo ID when you pick up your child so we can identify you.
